A lost week

This week started great after our Saturday shoot at the Darwin Discovery Day at the MSU Museum we found ourselves helping out our friends at Good Fruit Video with a shoot for the MSU RCPD awards that will be coming up later this year. Working with organizations like the RCPD is what we live for. Telling stories and creating awareness for their cause is fulfilling and gives deep meaning to our work.

Unfortunately, after that, the week took a frustrating turn for myself. The little one brought home some sickness and left us reeling for the rest of the week. Despite me being down for the count, the boys at Biddle finished out the week strong. We finished up the first draft of a project for the REOTM that will be displayed with their new curved dash exhibit, locked down the shooting schedule for our friends at All Star Mechanical, and shot a cool event for MDE!

Hopefully I can get over this sickness and hit the ground running next week!

Where to Vegan?

Filming people eating is always a no-no but when your assignment is a vegan cooking demonstration, people will be doing just that. It’s a challenge to avoid making them look like they are in an ASMR Mukbang film. Hopefully, I did them justice this week at the vegan cooking demonstration for the MSU Museum. This is a program in support of their current exhibition, Food Fight! (I had a chance to photograph the opening a few weeks ago and you can check that out here!). This was my first chance to meet Kari Magee of Veg Head and the partner of a good friend of mine! She did a fantastic job and made everyone happy with some creative and tasty dishes! The event was held in the Venture Kitchen at the MSU Union. This space is provided by the Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and is a fully licensed commercial kitchen startup, located in the MSU Union. Very cool stuff.

I also sat down with some friends and potential clients this week. It was great to catch up and to see how much opportunity there is to work together!

Later this week we will be back at the MSU Museum producing a piece for Darwin Discovery Day! If you can come out this Saturday, it is always an awesome event! Bring the kiddos!

There’s so much more coming up but I am already way past what I intended to write for this post! Have a great weekend!

Where this week took Biddle City Creative Media

This week led us to two days with our new friends at Enprotech! Shooting industrial projects can be a challenge but can yield some amazing results.

The week rounds out with three events on campus. Curtis Chin, First Friday, and Sunday's Vegan Cooking Workshop with the MSU Museum! Photo heavy and I'm good with that!

We are also ready to unleash some creativity in the upcoming weeks with some projects that should come together quickly! Stay tuned.

First and Foremost

I never have much to say, but I always have so much to share! I am going to be starting a weekly photo blog to update friends, family, and others who are interested in following along with the adventures we have at Biddle City Creative Media. This will highlight our location work with clients and show off more progress with the projects and productions we are working on. Our video and photo production takes us across the great state of Michigan and we hope you enjoy the trip!
